Thomas Gerald Schultz

Thomas Gerald “Tweety Bird” Schultz, 70 of Jacksonville passed away Friday November 30, 2018 at the O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens.  Born January 29, 1948 in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marena Deal Schultz.  He was a Marine Vietnam Veteran who was a Purple Heart recipient and served as a machine gunner in the 3rd marine division.  Thomas formerly worked at Columbus and Southern, and later owned and operated several area businesses, including EZ Mart and T and J’s Feed Store, both in Glouster, and Pablo’s in Nelsonville.  

He is survived by his wife, Jane Docie Schultz of Jacksonville; a daughter, Tammy (Dave) Kovach of Glouster; a son, T. Jay Schultz of Chillicothe; 3 grandchildren, Tatum Schultz, Ellie Kovach, and Ezra Schultz; and a sister, Irene Porter of Newark.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Schultz; 2 brothers, Ralph and Rodney Schultz; and a sister, Janice Allen.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the United States Marines.  Contributions can be made to the Trimble High School Cheerleaders c/o Sandy Gyure, PO Box 187 Glouster, Ohio 45732.  Arrangements are by the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A comforting message may be sent to the family at
