Paul Woods

Paul Woods, 100 of Jacksonville passed away Wednesday November 21, 2018 at his residence.  Born August 20, 1918 in Jacksonville, he was the son of the late Clarence and Gertie Safreed Woods.  He retired from Carborundum in Logan.  Paul was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater as a paratrooper and rifle sharp shooter.  He was a member of the Glouster American Legion and the Jacksonville Senior Center.  

He is survived by a daughter, Paulette (Mike Wright) Woods of New Lexington; a son, Paul (Trina) Woods of Redtown; 5 grandchildren, Heather (P.K.) Moore, Ryan (Alicia) Woods, Faith (Sonny Cain) Wilson, Matthew (Ashley) Woods, and Charity Wilson; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Donna (Ralph) Love and Mina Vore; and special neighbors, John and Vickie Williams.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Vore Woods; a great grandson, Tyler Moore; 3 brothers, Ernie, Earl, and Donald; and 2 sisters, Grace and Gladie.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday November 26, 2018 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Pastor Mark Mitera officiating.  Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit and the United States Army.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Contributions can be made to Ohio Health Hospice, 444 West Union Street, Athens, Ohio 45701.  A comforting message may be sent to the family at
