Roger D. Dillon

Roger D. Dillon, 87 of Glouster passed away Saturday October 27, 2018 at his residence.  Born February 6, 1931 in Chesterhill, he was the son of the late Harlan J. and Minnie P. Windland Dillon.  He was an Army Veteran serving in the Infantry Medical Corps in Germany during the Korean War and retired from Ohio Oil Gathering in Corning.  He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Glouster, and a lifetime member of the Jacksonville V.F.W.  Roger enjoyed farming, and was known for his incredible memory.  

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janice M. Burdiss Dillon of Glouster; a daughter, Mary (Gary) Matthews of Columbia, SC; a son, Fritz (Rochelle) Dillon of Glouster; five grandchildren, Sonya Sexton, Jillian Sabo, T.J. Dillon, Megan Dillon, and Jamie Friel; and two great grandchildren, Zoe Sabo and Marcus Sexton.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille, Juanita, and Rosalie.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday October 30, 2018 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Glouster.  Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit and the United States Army.  Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.  Contributions can be made to Ohio Health Hospice, 444 West Union Street, Athens, Ohio 45701.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at
