Deborah E. Swallow

Deborah E. Hankinson Swallow, 67 of Glouster passed away Tuesday August 14, 2018 at her residence.  Born May 5, 1951 in Zanesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Jr. and Helen F. Murphy Hankinson.  She enjoyed books, old time classic movies, knitting, crocheting, her dogs, her many birds, and photography.  She graduated from New Lexington High School and was in the second graduating class of the Tri County Technical Institute, currently known as Hocking College.  Deborah’s work history includes, cake decorating, baking, Pico Wholesale, Trimble Township Waste Water Treatment District Treasurer and Board Member, Richardson Wholesale Company, and Glouster Village Clerk/Treasurer.  

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ted –Theodore R. Swallow of Glouster; sons, Ted-Theodore R. (Debra Adkins) Swallow II of Athens and Terry-Theron R. (Lisa) Swallow of Enon; grandchildren, Theron R. II and Seth A. Swallow and Dylan Douglas; sister, Sue (Horace) Gilmore of Reynoldsburg; brother, Charles A. “Skip” (Robin) Hankinson Sr. of Bradenton, FL; brothers-in-law, William G. and Steven D. Swallow; 9 aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Gary Moore; brother-in-law, James C. Swallow; and 13 aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday August 20, 2018 at the Bishopville Church of Christ with Father Christopher Foxhoven officiating.  Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00pm.  Arrangements are by the Morrison Funeral Chapel.  A comforting message may be sent to the family at
