Emmett E. "Butch" Olbers III

Emmett E. “Butch” Olbers III, 62 of Glouster passed away Thursday August 10, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.  He was born June 25, 1955 in Athens.  He worked alongside his father at Hud’s Service Station in Glouster for several years, continuing that work after his father’s death in 2008.  Butch enjoyed riding dirt bikes and competing in off road enduro racing.  He was an avid fan of Ohio State Football and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his mother, Julia Ann Gyure Olbers of Glouster; two sisters, Amy Jo Ward of Jacksonville and Becky Olbers of Marietta; two nephews, Randall Ward Jr. and Justin Ward; great nieces, Mariah and Allisyn; a great nephew, Cayden; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett E. “Hud” Olbers II; and his wife, Brenda Olbers.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday August 17, 2017 at the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield.
