Charles R. Jordan

“Sir Charlie” Charles R. Jordan, 85 of Smoke Rise Ranch, passed away Wednesday July 5, 2017 at the V.A. Medical Center, Chillicothe.  Born December 14, 1931 in Logan Co., WV, he was the son of the late Nathan and Della McKinney Jordan.  He was a father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.  He was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War.  Sir Charlie enjoyed his work at the Smoke Rise Ranch and traveling with his best buddy, Tommy Lee Osha.

He is survived by 2 sons, Tim Jordan of Trimble and Randy Jordan of Zanesville; 3 daughters, Cathy (Edward Banik) Jordan of Nelsonville, Cindy (Alex) Wynstra Sr. of Chesterhill, and Laura (Patrick Clark) Jordan of Spartanburg, SC; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way; 3 brothers, James (Jean) Jordan of Glouster, Joe (Bernita) Jordan of Athens, and Denver (Sandy) Jordan of Shade; 3 sisters, Marie (Paul) Elswick of Circleville, Nancy (Howard) Sharp of The Plains, and Barb (Joe) Phillips of Athens; a son-in-law, Bob Andrews of Lecanto, FL; and two special friends, Tommy Lee Osha and Lynn Semingson.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Walraven Jordan; a daughter, Joyce Andrews; a great grandchild, Mikey J.; sisters, Ruth Harris, Virginia McKibben, and C. Jean Sayers; and brothers, Ray, Clarence, and Ronald Jordan.  

Charles’ wishes were to be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date at the Smoke Rise Ranch.  Arrangements are by the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A comforting message may be sent to the family at
