Darrell W. Williams

Darrell W. Williams, 69 of Glouster passed away Sunday July 2, 2017 at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.   Born February 25, 1948 in Athens, he was the son of the late Claude W. and Frances R. McKee Williams.  He attended both Glouster and Morgan High Schools.  Darrell was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran who served in the 101st Airborne Division and fought at the Battle of Hamburger Hill.  

He is survived by his wife, Regina Williams of Glouster; children, Darrell “D.J.” Williams Jr., Melissa (Kenneth) Young, and Trish (Greg) Williams, all of Glouster; grandchildren, Britney (Drew) Peart, Heather (Justin Estes) Warren, Heath Warren, Trey Young, Darrell “Wes” Williams III, Jayley Barnhart, Claudia Barnhart, Jimmy Barnhart II, and Brice Bickley; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Mary) Williams, Mary McCombs, and Patricia (Wayne) Losey; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Claude Wayne Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday July 6, 2017 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Rev. Elijah Brooks officiating. Interment will be in the Glouster Cemetery where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the United States Army and the Combined Color Guard Unit.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.  A comforting message may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com .
