Heaven became a little brighter, and the earth became a little darker as Larry Lee Hook, Jr. took his final journey to be with his Lord and Savior, on Monday November 14th, 2022.

Those who knew him, knew that his wife was his world. His children and grandchildren were his joy.  His family and friends were his life. His music was his purpose.  The ocean and the beach were his peace. God was his refuge, strength, and guide.

Larry resided in North Carolina with his wife of 21 years, Christina E (Mace) Hook, at the time of his passing. They had recently moved from Fort Myers, FL.  He attended church at Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church, in Kinston, NC.

Larry was born on January 16th, 1967, in Nelsonville, OH.  He was the son of Larry Lee Hook, Sr.  and the late Linda (McLaughlin) Lanning.  Larry was formerly a caregiver; he exuded compassion for others. He was a gospel singer and musician. He has touched many with his love and music.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christina E (Mace) Hook,  two sons, Erik Hook of Glouster, OH, and Christopher “Will” (Suzannah) Hook, of Kinston, NC; two step-children Melinda “Mindy” Bryan of Washington Court House, OH and Aaron (Jody) Bryan of The Plains, OH; a granddaughter, Harlow Hook and four step - grandchildren Stephany, Suzanne, Shawn and Silas Matheny; a brother James “Eddie” (Beth) Hook of Lancaster, OH; sisters Trinda Hook of Logan, OH, Lori (Bud) Dotson of Logan, and Rebecca Hook of Lancaster; stepbrother, Daniel (Niko) Lanning of League City, TX and stepsister, Ramona Lanning of League City, TX; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Larry was also a foster parent to many. Michael Davis, Brian Rubbins, and Trever Lee are three young men whom Larry also claimed as his own

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda (McLaughlin) Lanning, Stepfather, Ernest Lanning; and a brother, Robbie Hook.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who knew and loved Larry for their support, love and prayers during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday November 26, 2022 at the Bishopville Church of Christ with Pastor Mike Wells officiating.  Interment will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield.   Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
