Richard Holcomb, 73 of Millfield passed away Saturday July 9, 2022, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.  Born November 2, 1948, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Francis and Mildred Winners Holcomb.  He was a Vietnam Navy Veteran, retired from Hocking Valley Concrete, and was a member of The Plains V.F.W.  Richard enjoyed fishing, playing cards, horseshoes, and basketball.  

He is survived by his wife, Linda Devenport Holcomb of Millfield; a son, Chas (Lisa) Holcomb of Coalton; two grandchildren, Logan and Kennedy Faith Holcomb; a sister, Carol (Rodney) Riley of Glouster; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Michael Holcomb; and a sister, Joann Holcomb.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday July 12, 2022, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with James McCord officiating.  Interment will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit and the United States Navy.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
