Mirinda "Kay" Neubig
Millersport,Ohio
9/17/1944-3/31/2021

Mirinda “Kay” Neubig, 76 of Millersport passed away Wednesday March 31, 2021 at the Tuscany Gardens Nursing Home in Pataskala where she was a resident for the last four years.  Born September 17, 1944 in Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Evans Stambaugh.  Kay was a 1962 graduate of Hebron Lakewood High School.  She was not afraid to work anywhere or do anything.  Some of her work experiences include the World’s Fair in New York, New York, the Buckeye Lake Amusement Park, J.C. Penny Outlet, Smitty’s Inn, Pirates Cove, Michael’s, Ameria Flora, and Harry and David.  She also owned and operated the Bungalow 7, a thrift store in Millersport.  Kay was electric, eccentric and a one-of-a-kind person.  She cherished living at Buckeye Lake and had steady “letters to the editor” in The Beacon, signing off as “Catfish Neubig”.  Kay was a founding member of the Canaligators in Millersport in the early 1980’s planning fun parties and get togethers.  She was an icon around town, driving around and honking/waving at anyone who was outside.  Kay also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by daughters, Randy (Mike) Willis, Robin (Chris Alexander) Fink, and Tamara Fields; also, her close and caring friends, Betty Schilling and George Abdalla.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Don Neubig; former husband, Ron Fink; a daughter, Ronda Hubbard; a sister, Carolyn Gill; and her beloved dog, Corinna Belle.

A special thanks to Lana and Roger Brewer and John and Sissy Tichenor for keeping an eye out for Kay and her special place on the island.

The staff at Tuscany Gardens are to be applauded for their compassion and loving care they gave Kay, especially the 200-unit staff.

To honor Kay’s wishes, there will be no services.  A caring cremation will be provided by the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville, Ohio.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
