Paul David Doughty

Paul David Doughty, 88, of Glouster passed away Thursday April 25, 2024, at his residence.  Born May 20, 1935, in Trimble, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Margaret Purvis Doughty.  He was a 1952 graduate of Corning High School.  After graduation, Paul joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany.  He worked at Rockwell International Aircraft Manufacturing, Westinghouse Industries, and later retired from the Columbus City School District.  After retirement, Paul worked part time for HAPCAP in Nelsonville and Glouster as a janitor and maintenance worker.  Paul was a lifelong member of the Trimble Church of Christ, Wolfe Creek Church of Christ and Blackburn Hill Church of Christ in Athens until he was unable to travel.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Paulda Doughty of Glouster; sons, Dustin (Stacey) Doughty of Madison, Alabama and Mike (Tanaya) McClellan of Jacksonville; daughters, Vicki (Bob) Hartman of Columbus and Sheila McClellan of Glouster; grandsons and caretakers, Dustin (Debra) McClellan of Jacksonville and Scott (Ivy) O’Neal of Lancaster; a sister, Joan Fakinos of Palm Desert, California; a niece, Norma Jean Simms Doughty of Glouster; and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Lois “Lou” Davenport Doughty; an infant son, Jeffrey Doughty; a daughter, Donna Doughty; and several siblings.

Paul’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no services observed.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting the tribute wall at www.morrisonfc.com.
